Professional press portal simplifies journalists’ daily work

The European Public Relations Group (EPRG), an alliance of European PR agencies focussing on the information and communications industry (ICT), now offers, with the EPRG PressRoom concept, a portal for intelligent and targeted distribution of press releases in Europe. The focus of the solution is a long-term simplification of journalists’ daily business by standardized search functionalities. As a result, unnecessary mails between manufacturers, agencies and journalists are reduced to a minimum.
Service with different levels
The EPRG PressRoom consists of different levels. On the first level, agencies publish their clients’ information on their own Agency PressRooms (example: www.rbt-pressroom.eu). The system also allows the setup of a PressRoom in the client’s own design. This Client PressRoom will be linked to on the client’s company homepage. The maintenance as well as hosting of data and CMS will be completely done by the agency. Thus, the press release is now offered professionally to interested journalists at two points (example: www.tiptel.de; button “PressRoom”). There is no effort for the client.
Intelligent distribution from supplier to journalist
If a release is relevant for Europe, it can be fed into the central European PressRoom (www.eprg-pressroom.eu). This PressRoom delivers an overall view on the ICT sector in Europe to the journalists. All releases in the EPRG PressRoom will additionally be shown in the EPRG Dashboards of all partner agencies. Therefore, a release is now visible on four points.
More efficient daily business for journalists
Journalists profit from a barrier-free system. It offers, aside from all relevant links, all downloads connected to a release. For journalists, the simple search mechanism which is split in two parts, is of particular importance. It is possible to search releases via industry and technology focus. All PressRoom clients are once registered according to certain criteria. Furthermore, it is possible to search releases via their parameters. These include number of characters, language, type of release or pictures available. The simple search of all releases of one client is also possible.
Search profiles instead of uncontrolled mails
A journalist can generate different profiles according to his own specific search criteria. Each time a release fitting these criteria is entered into the PressRoom, anywhere in Europe, the journalist will receive it as a newsletter or RSS. Reading lots of incoming mails should be obsolete in the near future.
